Darius Palace 7374
Darius probably did not live to see the building finished at around 486 B.C. It was entered via the western staircase ordered by Artaxerxes III and decorated with figures carrying food vessels and lambs. Empty spaces between windows and door frames would have been filled with painted plaster or glazed brick. These were probably private apartments.
